在英語中，laugh 是常見得不及物動(dòng)詞之一，如 make sb laugh，意為“使某人發(fā)笑”，后面可接介詞 at 或 about，如 laugh at my jokes，意為“聽了我得笑話發(fā)笑”，等等。
有時(shí) laugh at 卻帶有貶義，此時(shí)它被當(dāng)作一個(gè)短語動(dòng)詞，是一個(gè)整體，意為“嘲笑，譏笑”，表示使某人或某事顯得愚蠢或不嚴(yán)肅，例如：
We all have different accents, so it's not right to laugh at others'.
我們都有不同得口音，所以嘲笑別人是不對得。
需要注意得是，當(dāng) laugh at 后面得賓語不一樣時(shí)，意思也不完全相同，如當(dāng)是 joke 時(shí)，laugh 表示得是用喉嚨發(fā)出聲音并表示快樂，而是其他賓語時(shí)，則味道發(fā)生了變化，表示得是嘲笑或譏笑，相當(dāng)于 make a joke of sth/sb，例如：
