Achilles means even after he comes back, he ll take at least a year before hopefully returning to his previous form. Especially on defense it s going to be tough for him. Bet he ll still have a nice jumper 3 though.

Melo would be the 6th man I think and would do well against bench players. Collins would be the starting 4 for his defense I believe.

Ariza actually hasn’t been playing that bad for the Blazers this year too so he might be the starting 3.

If I remember correctly, we had two off-seasons of Dame CJ trying to recruit hoodie Melo, but he opted for other teams. We finally gave up after being the bridesmaid twice, he was eventually cut by Houston, and we said we weren’t interested. He gets a year off, we get decimated by injuries, we both decide to give it a shot and, despite our record, it has been a great experience. Happy to have him back and retire with Portland.

I feel like the last two years of Melo being ghosted was unnecessary. I don’t think Melo was amazing in OKC and Houston but he was not god awful like I keep hearing from people. The issue was his relunctance to to come off the bench but I feel He could’ve been sign to shit teams anyway that just needed some talent. For example Melo would’ve been a decent addition to a team like the hornets last year with Kemba. You just shouldn’t disrespect talent like that fmo unless they are really bad.

I m honestly really glad he feels this way. I really thought he was just gonna take a vet min on the highest placed team he could go to, just to try and get a ring before he retires

He s proven this year so far he at least deserves to still be in the NBA as a role player. Sure he isn t the superstar he once was,

but he draws the defense to him, has the ability to create a shot, does well running the second unit, and sometimes passes out lol. He ll be a good 6th man on our healthy team, or we could roll out a big man starting 5 with Dame, CJ, Melo, Collins, and Nurk while Rodney is still recovering

Happy for Melo. Portland seems like a great fit for him and he s been playing his best ball in years. I thought his career was done after last year, but I m happy to say I was wrong. It sucks to see players that were once stars not go out on their own terms, but it seems like Melo has the chance to do that now.
